How to have beautiful hands?

How to have beautiful hands?

Coralie Techer

Hands are constantly in demand. In permanent and direct contact with the outside world, they are subjected to the full force of time and our activities... To prevent them from getting damaged and to keep them looking fresh, discover all our tips for a perfect manicure at home.

Without them, we would lose a lot of our motor skills... Hands allow us to do just about everything! Work, write, draw, use our smartphone, get in touch with others, express ourselves, catch up or even take care of ourselves. They are essential to our daily well-being. And yet, do we really take care of them? Changes in temperature, chemicals, friction and just about everything we touch or do with our hands during the day damage them considerably. Obviously , nails also need to be taken into account. More or less fragile, they also suffer from our follies (failed manicures, gel, semi-permanent application, nail biting, etc.). Taking care of your hands on a daily basis means avoiding small inconveniences that can become much more significant and serious, such as the appearance of mycoses or whitlows!

The right actions to take to take care of your hands

For an absolutely perfect manicure (even without going to the nail salon) we adopt the right techniques.

Daily hydration

Are you thinking about moisturizing your hands? If the answer is no, then you should quickly remedy this! To keep your hands soft, your skin nourished and especially prevent the signs of aging (the hands are the part of the body where aging is most noticeable, especially with the appearance of brown spots) we moisturize DAILY. It is even recommended to moisturize them as soon as we feel the need (tightness, dryness). With this global pandemic story, hydration is more recommended than ever. Our hands are severely put to the test by hydroalcoholic gel. This health measure should not be neglected, but it should not damage the hands either. If you can combine hygiene and hydration, that's even better. A little tip, choose hydroalcoholic solutions that do not attack the skin, such as ROSECLEAN cleansing lotion from ROSEGOLD , which eliminates up to 99% of bacteria present on the surface of the skin while keeping the skin soft.

Apply masks and exfoliate

Yes, hand masks and scrubs exist and they always do a lot of good. Very popular in Asian countries like South Korea or Taiwan, hand masks and scrubs are arriving in the West and are proliferating on cosmetic shelves. The masks that look like paper gloves are soaked in moisturizing and beneficial lotions for our hands. We slip our hands in and leave it on for the indicated time. The result? Soft and deeply invigorated skin ! Of course, it is also possible to make your own homemade masks (natural, organic and made with love) ... As for scrubs, generally coarse-grained, their purpose is to remove dead skin from the surface layer of the epidermis. We do one per week (always before the mask) depending on the condition of the hands.

Wear hygiene gloves for household chores

Hygiene gloves are not just for professionals. In fact, we should all wear them whenever our skin comes into contact with a household product, whether chemical or not. This applies to dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, black soap, window cleaner and anything that can be used to clean, strip and shine! Whenever possible, choose washable gloves.

Put on sunscreen

The skin on your hands is extremely thin! Protecting it from the sun's UV rays should be automatic. So remember, this is a gesture that should become a priority before leaving the house.

Space out the applications of varnish, gel or other semi-permanent products

Taking care of your nails is obviously part of hand care! And one of the things that attacks this part of the body the most... It's the application of nail polish. Certainly ultra-aesthetic, we love it. However, nail polish is harmful to our nails. It is essential to space out the applications (at least one to two months, every three months) in order to let the nail regenerate and regain strength to support a new beauty.

Treat yourself to a manicure once a month

A good manicure (without applying nail polish) does a world of good to hands that are pampered to the max, it also helps keep nails strong ! We get rid of cuticles, gently file the nails, nourish them with suitable creams, massage our hands... A spa session that is entirely possible at home and can be repeated once a month!

5 homemade recipes for sublime hands and nails

In order to best maintain the beauty of our hands, we reveal five homemade recipes to try.

Olive oil and lemon bath

In a bowl of hot water, mix olive oil and lemon to create a natural hand treatment. Olive oil will nourish dry cuticles and lemon will whiten nails (sometimes yellowed by nail polish, for example). Soak your hands in it for about fifteen minutes. Repeat once a week to give yourself a complete makeover.

A honey and sugar scrub

Another good recipe for pretty hands, to make with the ingredients in the kitchen cupboard. Mix a teaspoon of brown sugar (to eliminate dead skin), a tablespoon of honey and add an egg yolk (intense hydration of the skin). Knead until you obtain a cream and apply while massaging to make the scrub work as well as possible. Repeat the operation at least once a week if your hands require it.

The miracle treatment for strengthened nails

Brittle nails? Soft? Or tending to split? Try castor oil, ideal for hair, it is also ideal for nails. It gives them strength, vigor and shine! Use a castor oil bath as a treatment (once or twice a week for three weeks) for better results over time. You can also apply it carefully to each nail in the evening before going to bed. It is best to leave it on overnight in a closed poultice (in a glove for example).
