How to stop getting pimples?

How to stop getting pimples?

Coralie Techer

When they are too present, pimples can become a real nuisance for those who suffer from them. How can we stop having them and, above all, how can we prevent their appearance? We look into the question.

The appearance of pimples is never really good news... As soon as they appear, we already want to get rid of them, even if it means hurting ourselves by piercing them, tearing them off or even bleeding them. These attitudes should be avoided, once the pimple has appeared, we must get rid of it gently with medical or natural methods. The best thing is still to prevent its appearance by adopting the right actions.

Why do we get pimples?

Pimples, also known collectively as acne, are a common skin condition that occurs when the hair follicles in the skin become clogged with sebum (the famous oil produced by the sebaceous glands) and dead skin cells. When bacteria grows in these follicles as a result of this blockage, it leads to inflammation and the formation of a more or less large pimple.

Different factors involved

Pimples can be caused by many different factors. It is especially during adolescence that we find ourselves struggling with them. This is normal! Pimples mainly occur during hormonal changes during adolescence, i.e. pregnancy or menstruation. Genetic factors, allergic reactions or skin irritations can also be the cause.

It's simple, if you are prone to the phenomenon, to prevent pimples it is recommended to review your lifestyle. The latter must be irreproachable!

What lifestyle should I adopt to avoid spots?

To avoid pimples, you will have to set up a new routine. Both in terms of your skincare habits and your diet. It is this last point that is the most important! A healthy body from the inside is automatically visible from the outside.

The right routine for your skin

The skincare step is obvious when you have problem skin. However, we tend to fall into over-cleansing and overusing all kinds of products... To avoid all this, make sure you adopt the right actions with a facial routine for oily skin . First, have your skin diagnosed by a professional who will then be able to establish a perfect and personalized routine.

Proper skin cleansing is essential: washing your face once or twice a day with a gentle, non-irritating cleanser removes dust residue, dead skin cells and excess sebum without damaging its production. Be careful to avoid harsh soaps, makeup removers and cleansers that can irritate the skin, accelerate sebum production and therefore blemishes.

We avoid comedogenic products: they are less and less present on the market but it is still preferable before buying a treatment, sun cream or makeup, to check that it is non-comedogenic so as not to clog the pores.

We choose care adapted to our skin type: before finding the perfect care, it takes several tries and that's normal. Don't be afraid to test different care and observe the effects on your skin. Whether it's the moisturizer, the eye and face serum , the mask... you will necessarily find the one that suits you.

We adopt new habits

Diet, daily habits, drastically changing your habits can have a significant effect on skin problems.

Touching your face means stop: we stop touching our face continuously. For some it is an automatic gesture and we will really have to work to stop it. Hands are often dirty (even if it is not visible), they can transfer bad bacteria, dirt, and oil onto the skin. Not to mention that by touching them too much, imperfections can get worse!

Ban fatty foods (as much as possible): If you are really motivated, you can completely stop eating foods that are too fatty, such as fried foods, fatty meats, processed foods, fast food and high-fat dairy products. Otherwise, you can simply drastically reduce their intake. Limiting yourself to once a week is already a good start.

Intense hydration: drinking water is the number 1 tip. Don't wait until you're thirsty, keep a full water bottle by your side all day long. The goal? At least 2L per day. If water alone doesn't help motivate you to drink, you can combine it with aromatic herbs or citrus fruits to make detox water.

Relax: easier said than done, that's for sure. But stress is also the enemy of beautiful skin. Why? By increasing cortisol levels, it stimulates the production of sebum which will clog pores and therefore promote the appearance of imperfections: blackheads, pimples. To minimize the negative effects of stress on the skin, it is important to manage stress effectively. Stress management methods such as meditation, yoga, regular exercise, deep breathing and muscle relaxation can all help reduce stress levels and improve skin health.

What are the natural and effective methods against pimples?

Many people are reluctant to take chemical and controversial treatments for acne. While in many cases they are extremely effective, they suffer a little too much from side effects... Fortunately, there are natural and effective solutions to treat acne. They simply require tenacity and patience.

Apple cider vinegar for cleansing: Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation and redness associated with acne. It can also help balance the skin’s pH and remove excess oil. Dilute apple cider vinegar with water and apply it to infected areas using a cotton swab.

Honey to soothe: It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can eliminate acne-causing bacteria and reduce inflammation. Apply a thin layer of honey to the affected areas and leave it on for about 10-15 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

Tea tree essential oil: also known as tea tree essential oil, this essence has antibacterial properties already known to treat blemishes. Apply a small amount of tea tree essential oil diluted with neutral vegetable oil to the affected areas. Leave on overnight, admire the result!

Aloe vera to heal and reduce inflammation: this magical plant has many properties. It is known to be soothing and anti-inflammatory. Choose pure aloe vera gel if possible (it is best to grow it in a pot and extract the gel directly). Apply a thin layer of aloe vera gel to the affected areas, let it dry before rinsing with warm water. You can also leave it on as a poultice overnight. Aloe vera is also an excellent healing agent.

Please note, it is important to understand that these natural methods may not work for everyone and it is necessary to consult a dermatologist if you have persistent acne problems.
