How can I get full lips naturally?

How can I get full lips naturally?

Coralie Techer

For slightly fuller, plumper lips, many are tempted to resort to surgery. But there are simpler, much less expensive solutions for a pretty mouth. Here's the lowdown.

While lip injections with hyaluronic acid can be a solution in extreme cases, fuller lips can also be achieved without the needles and other protocols of cosmetic medicine. All you need to do is apply the right gestures on a daily basis and include the right products in your beauty routine!

How can I plump up my lips naturally?

To get full, naturally plumped lips without plastic surgery, whenever you want and from the comfort of your own home, simply follow these steps carefully.

Lip scrub

It's an important step in keeping lips beautifully rosy, plump, smooth and healthy! In fact, exfoliation, as for the body and face, enables dead skin on the lips to be gently removed. Regular exfoliation not only prevents the appearance of chapped lips, but also ensures that we don't end up tearing off the little skins that can sometimes cause nasty boo-boos. Exfoliating the lips should become a reflex, and can be done either with a simple homemade scrub or with a scrub (also called lipscrub) developed by a cosmetics brand.

If you don't have a lipscrub in your beauty kit, simply mix a teaspoon of honey with a pinch of brown sugar and rub the mixture (gently) over your lips. Repeat several times a week if necessary. Don't forget to apply a balm or moisturizer (such as almond or coconut oil) after each exfoliation.

Moisturizing lips

Moisturizing is the key step in any good skincare routine. Never forget your day cream and eye serum! Whether it's for your hair, body or face, moisturizing remains the foundation of a blossoming beauty and a healthy body. It's the same for lips: to keep them full, plump and beautiful, you need to keep them hydrated! To do this, always remember to drink your daily water ratio, as the best hydration always comes from within. To complete this essential step, remember to apply a repairing, ultra-moisturizing balm to your lips before bedtime. This care product will work overnight to repair skin weakened by external aggressors such as wind, cold, tobacco, pollution and make-up. During the day, apply a lip balm stick (as natural as possible) if you need a touch-up. However, it's best to avoid applying it every hour, as this can create a dependency on the skin of the lips and dry them out.

Clever lip makeup

Make-up can also be used to "cheat" and give lips a fuller appearance in just a few strokes of pencil and brush. Simply apply the contouring technique, adapted to the lips. The principle is to play with shadows and colors, like a painter, to bring relief to the volume of lips that are too thin. We'll use a lip pencil to support the lip contour, and it's up to you to decide whether you'd like more support for the lower lip, the upper lip or both. Choose a shade half a tone above your natural shade if you want a nude result; if you want colored lips, choose a pencil half a tone above your lipstick color. Choose light shades to avoid going overboard. For a plump effect, finish with a touch of plumping gloss over lipstick, or start with a base such as a plumping lip serum... Long live lip make-up!

Facial gymnastics

We're hearing a lot about it these days, and for good reason: facial exercising works miracles to refine and sculpt the face! By working the many muscles in the face, it gives the face an incredible curve. Among other things, the various exercises offered by facial gymnastics give you fuller lips. Through hard work, the muscles of the mouth are better defined, adding volume to the lips for a fuller mouth.

As a little tip, an ice cube passed over the lips in the morning after your skincare routine and before applying lip balm boosts blood circulation, naturally tints the lips and plumps them up. Be careful, however, to apply the ice cube quickly (a few seconds at most), otherwise you risk ending up with blue lips.
