How can I grow my eyelashes back quickly?

How can I grow my eyelashes back quickly?

Coralie Techer

Our eyelashes fall out naturally. Just like hair, they renew themselves! Sometimes, however, we pull them out by mistake, or they fall out from time to time as a result of poor treatment, disease or genetics. So what can you do about it? We tell you all about it.

Having long, beautiful eyelashes is something of a dream for everyone. There's no better way to enhance the look of your eyes, and many people like to take advantage of this with eyelash extensions or false eyelashes. While most of us are endowed with eyelashes, it's less common to really take care of them. As a result, those eyelashes sometimes fall out! And let's face it, when you lose your natural eyelashes, the difference is immediately noticeable. Fortunately, as with our hair, in most cases eyelashes grow back naturally (except in cases of illness). They grow back more or less slowly, depending on the nature of each individual. If your eyelash loss is not linked to an illness, there are solutions to help them grow back with a little boost and restore their health.

Do eyelashes grow back quickly?

The answer is yes! Eyelashes grow back. If you cut your eyelashes or they fall out, don't worry, it's not the end of the world. They'll grow back. It's always a good idea to remember that eyelashes have a life span and a growth cycle. Just like its cousin, the hair. In other words, it grows, flexes and then dies. The average lifespan of an eyelash is between 3 and 5 months. Just like hair, this life cycle is divided into 3 stages:

  • The anagen phase
  • The catagen phase
  • Telogen phase

During the anagen phase, the lash begins to develop in the hair follicle. This happens mainly thanks to the nutrients that the blood vessels supply to it. But you need to know that the growth phase is not universal and changes from one individual to another.

During the catagen phase(shorter than the other two phases), eyelash growth stops. This is because the follicle reduces its activity and the bulb returns to the epidermal surface.

The last phase is the telogen phase, also known as the drooping or resting phase. Here, the lash stops growing and rests. This marks the end of its life cycle. Once dead, the lash is dislodged from the root, and this is what's known as the fall phase. Generally speaking, once the dead lash has been expelled, another forms, and the anagen phase begins again. It's the cycle of life!

Occasionally, an eyelash may be cut, due to incorrect handling of the eyelash curler or some other accident. In this case, their fall has been provoked. But they can also fall out suddenly. When you notice that your eyelashes are falling off more and more without you having done anything to make it happen, there may be other reasons for the loss of your eyelashes. In some cases, it's best to consult a medical specialist.

Overuse of eye care products

If you put too much mascara, eyeshadow or pencil on the arch of your lashes, you'll tend to rub your eyes a lot more to remove the make-up that's there. This can lead to bald lashes.

A thyroid disorder

The thyroid regulates many things in the body, including hormones. When the thyroid is dysregulated, it can lead to hair and eyelash loss, which are considered symptoms of this broad disorder. There are many thyroid problems to watch out for, and if you suspect you're suffering from one, it's essential to seek medical advice.

Stress

Yes, if you're constantly stressed, your eyelashes will suffer. In fact, stress can cause a hormonal upheaval and weaken the capacity of your follicles.

Alopecia

Alopecia is an autoimmune skin disease that attacks the hair follicles (the spaces where hair begins to grow). This can lead to loss of hair, eyelashes and eyebrows.

There are many factors that can cause our eyelashes to fall out and hinder their regrowth:

  • Nutritional deficiencies
  • Rough make-up removal
  • Lack of vitamins that promote hair growth
  • Chemotherapy
  • Using the wrong make-up products

How can I get my eyelashes to grow back?

If your eyelashes are losing volume and length without being the symptom of a disease, it's not an ordeal without a solution. But how do you grow your eyelashes back? You can easily remedy the situation! There are a number of tricks you can use to help your eyelashes grow back illico presto (or almost).

Regularly cleanse your face

Lashes can fall out because so much dirt clings to them. Our eyelashes also need to be clean in order to lighten and breathe. It's highly recommended to cleanse the face with a certain amount of application to the lashes. But don't use harsh soaps! Choose a gentle cleanser that will gently remove the dirt accumulated during the day (make-up, pollution, sweat...) and won't sting the eyes.

How can I get my eyelashes to grow back?

Use eyelash curlers sparingly and gently

The eyelash curler is a great way to curl eyelashes, and when used correctly can also help them grow in the right direction and adjust their position. But beware: if used incorrectly, the eyelash curler can have the opposite effect, or even cause you to lose your lashes! It should never be used after applying mascara (the lash is too fragile). When applied, it should be applied smoothly, about ten seconds per eye.

Finding the cause of eyelash loss

If your eyelashes are falling out abnormally, it's really important to understand how and why so you can tackle the root cause. You need to examine your body and lifestyle to establish what may be causing your eyelashes to fall out.

Opt for a growth serum

Whether it's a hair serum or an eyelash serum, growth serums have proven their worth! If you're looking for a fast, effective solution, you can opt for a castor oil treatment or an eyelash growth serum. ROSEGOLD's ROSELASH serum has been specifically designed for this purpose. Formulated with natural ingredients, it promises reliable results after just one month's use.

How to optimize your eyelash-boosting serum?

  • For one month, apply the product to your lashes every morning and evening. The point is to stick to it, as it's a cure.
  • It's important to have clean, makeup-free and dry lashes when administering an eyelash serum.
  • The use of mascara or other eye make-up is not forbidden. Just avoid applying it immediately after applying your serum.

How to choose your eyelash serum?

A regrowth serum has several actions on eyelashes. Not only can it thicken and lengthen them, it also has the power to nourish them! Above all, a good lash serum should prevent lashes from breaking or falling out. Here are a few criteria to consider when choosing your serum:

The ingredients

Before choosing an eyelash serum, it's important to analyze the ingredients it contains. To do this, look for the space reserved for this purpose. The composition may be mentioned on the packaging, or on the serum itself. Don't hesitate to ask about the properties of ingredients you're not familiar with! Not all brands include the same products in their composition. That's why we strongly recommend that you check every ingredient in your chosen product to avoid any risk of allergy.
