What trends for our eyebrows in 2021?

What trends for our eyebrows in 2021?

Coralie Techer

Thick, full, bushy, showy eyebrows are exactly what's hot right now! But with so many trends mixing and mingling, it's easy to get confused, so let's get to the bottom of it.

The browlift trend for on fleek eyebrows

You hear about it on every street corner. The browlift is all the rage, but what exactly is it? Don't be fooled by its name: it's not a facelift in the strict sense of the word. It is said to be the simplest and most effective method for restructuring eyebrows. The result is thicker, fuller and, above all, better-defined eyebrows, while at the same time fixing their movements. You could say it's a kind of eyebrow enhancement (like eyelash enhancement). In the hands of an expert (you can't do it yourself at home), the brow-lift technique meticulously works the hairs to shape them and make them malleable. Often, a tint is applied to give the eyebrow a more pronounced appearance.

  • Why we love it? It's the perfect alternative for those who aren't daring to go for permanent makeup like microblading or tattooing, but who still want defined, long-lasting eyebrows! Browlifts are accessible to everyone and are ideal for those with drooping eyelids. Be careful, however, as this technique isn't suitable for those with sparse eyebrows.

Microblading for long-lasting hold

It's another trend that's been catching on for some time now. Microblading is a semi-permanent make-up technique that aims to restructure the eyebrows as much as possible. It's the IDEAL technique for those who want to re-draw a harmonious line and fill in gaps where, unfortunately, hairs no longer grow... How does it work? This is a manual technique. The specialist first draws the desired line with a pencil (just like a surgical procedure!). Then, using a metal pen and nano-needles impregnated with mineral pigments, she painstakingly draws in each missing hair on the eyebrow line. The pain is less insistent than for a tattoo, but the experience can be a little unpleasant.

  • Why we love it? It's the perfect solution for those who want to get a worthy line without having to go through the permanent process of tattooing! Microblading lasts around three years before fading. It's the miracle solution to no longer waste time in the morning applying eyebrow makeup!

Feral Brow for a wild look

This time, we're going all out for the bushy side: Feral Brow is all about the love of messiness! It's a way of adding character to your look. This technique doesn't require much effort: all you need is a brow-fixing gel and a pencil if you want to tint the whole thing (but be careful not to overload). How does it work? First of all, you comb your eyebrows to give them a more or less wild curve. Once the hairs are in order (or rather, the desired disorder), we apply the fixing gel!

  • Why do we love it? Because the fake-sloppy look always has a certain effect. It's also a great way to hide the fact that you didn't necessarily have time to do your eyebrows that morning! After all, vacations are mostly for relaxing, right?

Shaded eyebrows for an elegant look

It's a make-up technique we don't hear much about yet, and yet it can wreak havoc! Here, powder texture is preferred to pencil. It's important not to overload the brush with too much material to create a soft, intense shadow line. How does it work? The ombré effect is akin to an effortless look, where the brush is applied with light, choppy strokes along the bristle line. Be careful not to make the hairs darker than the hair, so make sure you choose the right shade! You can try several strokes if necessary. For lasting hold, you can perfect the look with a setting gel.

  • Why we love it? This technique is delicate, perfect for summer and gives the face a fresh and elegant beauty boost.

The geolift brow for a structured face

One trend follows another, and they all look pretty much the same. The geolift brow is in fact the evolution of the boys brow, a trend that was quite popular in the 2010s. The eyebrow is kept somewhat thicker, but not uniformly so. For example, at the top of the eyebrow, the idea is for the hairs to be less dense, like a "little feather" effect. The arch underneath should be clean, and the tail of the eyebrow should end in a tapered shape that is neither wide nor extended. This technique emphasizes the geometric aspect of the eyebrow (hence its name, which may seem to come from another planet).

  • Why we love it? This type of eyebrow structure maximizes facial harmony by playing on the symmetry and perfect geometry of the features. They open the eyes and clear the face. The real plus is that this technique can be used on all eyebrow types and all body shapes! The little extra that makes it totally anchored in the 2021 trend? Its gender-neutral aspect means it can suit both men and women.
