How can I have beautiful hands?

How can I have beautiful hands?

Coralie Techer

Hands are in constant demand. In constant, direct contact with the outside world, they suffer the full force of time and our activities... To prevent damage and keep them looking fresh, discover our tips for a perfect manicure at home.

Without them, we'd lose a lot of our motor skills... Hands enable us to do just about everything! We can work, write, draw, use our smartphone, make contact with others, express ourselves, catch up or even look after ourselves. They are indispensable to our daily well-being. And yet, do we really take care of them? Temperature changes, chemicals, friction and just about everything else we touch or do with our hands during the day, damage them considerably. Of course, nails are another factor. More or less fragile, they too suffer from our follies (botched manicures, gel, application of semi-permanents, nail biting...). Taking care of your hands on a daily basis means avoiding minor problems that can become much more serious, such as the appearance of mycosis or panariasis!

How to take good care of your hands

For an absolutely perfect manicure (even without going to the nail salon), we adopt the right gestures.

Daily moisturizing

Do you think about moisturizing your hands? If not, you'd better do something about it! To keep your hands soft and your skin nourished, and above all to prevent the signs of ageing (hands are the area of the body where aging is most noticeable, particularly with the appearance of brown spots), we moisturize DAILY. We even recommend moisturizing as soon as you feel the need (tightness, dryness). With this global pandemic, moisturizing is more recommended than ever. Our hands are put to the test with hydroalcoholic gel. This sanitary gesture should not be neglected, but it shouldn't damage our hands either. If you can combine hygiene and moisturizing, all the better. A word of advice: choose skin-friendly hydroalcoholic solutions like ROSEGOLD's ROSECLEAN cleansing lotion, which eliminates 99% of the bacteria present on the skin's surface, while keeping skin soft.

Wear hygiene gloves for household chores

Hygiene gloves aren't just for professionals. In fact, we should all be wearing them whenever our skin comes into contact with any household product, chemical or otherwise. This applies to washing-up liquid, detergent, black soap, window cleaner and anything else that can be used to clean, strip and shine! Wherever possible, we choose washable gloves.

Wear sunscreen

The skin on your hands is extremely thin! Protecting it from the sun's UV rays should be automatic. So remember, it's a gesture that should become a priority before you leave the house.

Space out varnish, gel or other semi-permanent applications

Taking care of your nails is obviously part of taking care of your hands! And one of the things that attacks this part of the body the most... is nail polish. Admittedly ultra-aesthetic, we love it. But nail polish is harmful to our nails. It' s essential to space out nail polish applications (at least one to two months, every three months) to allow the nail to regenerate and regain the strength it needs to withstand new beauty.

Treat yourself to a manicure once a month

A good manicure (without nail polish) does your hands a world of good: they're pampered to the max, and your nails stay strong too! We get rid of cuticles, gently file the nails, nourish them with appropriate creams and massage the hands... A spa session that's perfectly possible at home and should be repeated once a month!

5 homemade recipes for sublime hands and nails

To keep your hands as beautiful as possible, here are five homemade recipes to try out.

Olive oil and lemon bath

Mix olive oil and lemon in a bowl of hot water to create a natural hand treatment. The olive oil will nourish dry cuticles, while the lemon will whiten nails (sometimes yellowed by nail polish, for example). Soak your handcuffs for about fifteen minutes. Repeat once a week for a complete makeover.

A honey-sugar scrub

Another great recipe for beautiful hands, using ingredients from the kitchen cupboard. Mix a teaspoon of brown sugar (to remove dead skin cells), a tablespoon of honey and add an egg yolk (to intensely moisturize the skin). Knead to a creamy consistency and massage into the skin. Repeat the operation at least once a week if your hands need it.

The miracle treatment for fortified nails

Brittle nails? Soft? Or tend to split? Try castor oil, ideal for hair and nails. It restores strength, vigor and shine! Castor oil baths can be used as a cure (once or twice a week for three weeks) for best results over time. You can also apply it carefully to each nail in the evening, before going to bed. Best left on overnight as a closed cataplasm (in a glove, for example).
