It's summer, and like every year, beauty trends emerge and some catch our eye more than others. Zoom in on seven makeup trends to give yourself a little makeover under the July sun. 

The weather is nice, it's hot (well, depending on the weather), it's the perfect time to rethink your makeup routine! Obviously, in summer we are free to let our skin breathe and take full advantage of the vitamin C provided by our good old sun. But if we feel like a little makeup, for an evening or just to shine on a terrace with a nice glass of iced spritz in hand, then the latest trends may interest us. 

1 - A fresh and luminous complexion 

It's a trend that never goes out of style. A fresh and luminous complexion is the king of summer. In this summer season, we leave the cheesy foundations in the closet, in summer the less we use, the better! The skin needs to breathe. But nothing prevents us from giving it a boost to allow it to shine with a perfect glow. 

• How to adopt the glowy effect? ​​We start with a neat base. We always make sure to moisturize our skin before sleeping and especially before applying makeup. After having made our care penetrate by a small facial massage, we move on to the complexion. We bet on light materials with a CC Cream or simply a tinted cream . A small revolution that mixes moisturizing care and foundation pigments! The finish is light and totally natural . We do not overload, so we avoid all kinds of powders and concealer, we can finish with a simple makeup fixative. 

2 - A gourmet but light mouth 

If in winter red wreaks havoc, in summer on the mouth we prefer to keep something light and  sparkling. The gloss that has long been criticized is back on the scene. Formulated in a much less dense way, we find it moisturizing to combine beauty and comfort in one stroke of the brush, or even tinted to adapt to the pH of the lips and offer us the dream color.

• How to adopt gloss? We can't really draw a picture of it, gloss goes with just about everything! So to adopt it, you just have to wear it. A few small touch-ups here and there, the hardest part will be choosing which one to wear!

3 - Ochre and orange tones galore

It's true, the color orange puts you in a good mood! In summer homes, it is not uncommon to find orange to ochre tones adorning walls, accessories or linens. This range of colors has a relaxing effect, it calms the mind while bringing a little bright side that we miss so much after all these winter months. To adopt this trend in beauty, there is no shortage of makeup palettes. Matte or iridescent eyeshadow, cream blush, liner or powder, we have fun with materials and tones to create the perfect summer makeup. 

• How to adopt the orange trend? On the eyes, we dare to go for flashy orange but in a glowy way. With a cream eyeshadow, apply the orange color all over the mobile eyelid, blend it out so as not to leave a paste effect. If we are daring, we can even have fun with an orange powder eyeshadow stretching towards pink and iridescent shades for a sunny look as desired. Another tip, we keep it simple with an orange liner. Without eyeshadow on the eyelid, a single line above the eye, and presto, it's done. 

4 - Blush, you want some, here you are! 

If there is one that will never leave the little papers of beauty makers, it is this one. The blush that gives a healthy glow, that sparkles and delights! We like it powdery, creamy and even liquid. It can be applied to the cheeks but not only, this summer we dare and why not even on the tip of the nose? For a radiant complexion right in line with the trend of "blush-draping"  (contouring with your blush!). 

• How to adopt the blush in the summer 2021 style? Come on, we're betting on a little lesson in blush-draping to stay right on the trend loved by the stars this summer 2021. Blush-draping, as seen above, could be similar to contouring. Very popular in the 70s (we didn't invent anything), it involves blushing your cheeks from the cheekbone to the temples and adding a light touch of blush on the bridge of the nose. You get a lighter, more refined, lighter and more natural contouring! A little more chic, it's the ideal trick to hit the mark in the evening or at a garden party.

5 - Color-blocking, again and again… but sparingly

We love color. It's the very sign of summer! So of course, we include it in our makeup without any problem. On the mouth or on the eyes, we bet on colors that have pep. Electric blue, bright pink and even yellow, after the crazy year we've had, a little color certainly won't hurt anyone. 

• How to adopt the color-block trend without exaggerating? Always with moderation, this is the adage to remember when having fun with colors. We have fun but we remain realistic. On the eyes we can opt for an ultra strong color but in this case play on a slightly lighter color on the lips. And the opposite works too. 

6 - The sunkissed effect, for a sun-kissed complexion

For those who aren't really fans of glowy complexions, we have a rather interesting alternative. Sunkissed! As its name suggests, this makeup can be reminiscent of a nice sunburn, just what you need to restore color and pep to a complexion that's not too fresh. A sunny and radiant complexion? We definitely say yes. 

• How to adopt the Sunkissed trend? After having unified the skin with light coverage (CC cream or tinted cream), we redden the cheekbones, without overdoing it but still putting enough so that it is visible. After which we apply a light veil of bronzing powder in five steps (forehead, temples, jaws, tip of the nose and top of the cheekbones) in order to structure the face and give it a golden tan. Note that the cream bronzer will have a lighter appearance than the powder one. 

7 - Marked eyebrows 

Structured or bushy, the trend is for eyebrows that are visible. This summer is no exception to the rule! It is important to remember that eyebrows are two extremely important elements in the structure of the face. They allow for overall harmony, if they are missed, it is often a disaster... Fortunately, there are now solutions to everything and it is now almost impossible to miss the line of your eyebrows! 

• How to adopt the marked eyebrow trend? You may already have full eyebrows and then you are among the lucky ones in this life. Otherwise, makeup can be a great help! With a pencil or brush, applying eyebrow makeup can be very easy when you have the knack. To do it properly, brush your eyebrows downwards, then apply your pencil or brush, following the original line carefully to fill in the empty areas! Put the hairs back in place using the brush, apply a fixative and there you have full eyebrows in no time. There is a more radical and lasting solution, microbalding. This permanent makeup technique consists of creating the illusion of small hairs using a microneedle and makeup pigments. If well maintained (at a rate of one touch-up per year), microbalding can last three years!
