Black seed oil, what is it?

Black seed oil, also called black cumin, Venus hair or even pepperweed, is originally a seed from an aromatic tree located in the Mediterranean region. Small but powerful, black seed seeds have been renowned for thousands of years in the Eastern countries.

Legend has it that in the time of Ancient Egypt, it was even called the gold of the Pharaohs. It seems that the healers of the time used it frequently to treat all kinds of ailments and best preserve the health of important figures. On the beauty side, black cumin would also have had its little reputation. It was on the side of these ladies that black seed oil was highly sought after. Queen Nefertiti herself would have made it her favorite beauty ingredient to reveal the radiance of her almost perfect complexion.

How is black seed oil obtained?

Extracted from an oilseed, black seed oil is obtained by cold pressing. Once the oil is obtained, its color is yellow/green or even amber, its composition is rich in essential fatty acids.

How to use black seed oil to have beautiful hair?

Recipes, precautions to take and good advice, we tell you everything to best use black seed oil for your hair.

Black seed oil is used very well externally to take care of hair. But for more effectiveness it is recommended to combine this external use with an internal use! How? In the pharmacy or parapharmacy it is possible to buy organic black seed seeds in powder or in capsule form as a dietary supplement, which we will ingest in a course. We can also add a few drops to our dishes (as a spice) but beware, its use should not be daily. If so then it will be done in a course, no more than 12 weeks. Before any consumption, ask the pharmacist for advice!

The recipes for a black seed hair mask:

  • The oil bath: Ideal for dry, dull or brittle hair, the black seed oil bath or soup is probably the simplest way to make our hair benefit from all the benefits of this miracle seed. Simply, we will soak the hair with the oil insisting well on the scalp. To allow the oil to penetrate deeply, we will massage circularly with the fingertips for a few seconds. To distribute the oil on the lengths, do not hesitate to comb vigorously with the help of a wide-tooth comb. For radical effectiveness, we leave it on overnight, the hair wrapped in a satin cap or in a hot towel.
  • The effective regrowth mask: when coconut oil and black seed oil meet it works miracles. Coconut oil to cleanse and black seed oil to nourish. This mask is ideal to boost hair regrowth. We mix two tablespoons of black seed oil and two tablespoons of coconut oil, for even more effectiveness we mix with this three drops of essential Ylang Ylang (excellent for shine and hair fortification). We apply on dry hair and leave on for a minimum of 30 minutes, but obviously the longer the better! We rinse with lukewarm water.

How often to do these masks?

Approximately, once a month or more depending on need. Very damaged hair can for example benefit from it once a week! A good course, it never hurts.

For even more beautiful hair, black seed oil can quite well be combined with the use of a growth serum like the ROSEHAIR serum from ROSEGOLD. Rich in biotin, it is specially designed to accelerate regrowth by acting naturally on the scalp.

Can we use black seed oil to accelerate the regrowth of eyelashes?

Since it greatly helps the well-being of hair (which are hairs like our eyelashes), we are entitled to ask if black seed oil is also effective for the regrowth and beauty of eyelashes! However, this natural oil is not specifically recommended for this use. For the beauty of eyelashes it is better to trust castor oil or even the ROSELASH serum from ROSEGOLD, a special eyelash serum (price of beauty 2023) which also acts naturally and helps the growth of eyelashes.

What precautions to take with black seed oil?

It is a natural product, but black seed oil still requires taking a few precautions:

  • Black seed oil is to be avoided for pregnant women.
  • We make sure not to exceed the expiration date.
  • We avoid contact with mucous membranes.
  • We ask a professional for advice in case of doubt about its use.
  • We make sure to choose an organic oil with first cold pressing.
