Rose Water - How to benefit from its benefits for our beauty?

Rose Water - How to benefit from its benefits for our beauty?

Coralie Techer

It is considered the queen of flowers, its beauty and delicious smell make it a prized ingredient in the world of cosmetics and perfumery. How can we ideally enjoy the benefits of the rose for our beauty? We tell you everything.

Anti-aging, moisturizing, purifying, toning, antioxidant ... Just like rice water , the virtues of the rose are legion and appreciated throughout the world for thousands of years. In their beauty routine, women of antiquity and even those of ancient Egypt, used to enhance their bath with rose petals. It is said that the great Cleopatra liked to accompany her bath with donkey milk with rose petals. The latter are said to have a remarkable healing and toning effect ... The beauty secret of the great ladies of the time? Most likely.

The benefits of roses in cosmetics

  • Anti-aging: its antioxidant action makes rose an incomparable ally in preserving the epidermis against the effects of time. The aging process of cells is slowed down, which allows the skin to regenerate more easily. Obviously, we can never completely stop the biological clock and that is not the goal. But a little help to stay a little longer in these beautiful years does not hurt.
  • Hydration: rose is also known for its regenerating and softening properties (skin elasticity) a very hydrating action. It is no coincidence that many big names in cosmetics have made it the main active ingredient in their day and night creams. Ideal for dry and mature skin.
  • Soothing: in its form of hydrosol, vegetable oil, cream or even milk, rose soothes. Why? Due to its anti-inflammatory action, rose reduces the dilation of blood vessels and thus prevents the appearance of redness, calms irritations and itching. More unusual, its sweet scent acts on our nervous system and calms it… it is therefore also very popular in the form of essential oil to diffuse.
  • Toning: it's no longer a secret but it's always good to remember it. Rose water, like floral waters in general, has a great toning capacity for the skin! Summer and winter, we treat ourselves. Morning (before your make-up routine) and evening (after your make-up removal routine) we soak our reusable wipe in rose water and gently pat it on the skin of the face. The active ingredients contained in the rose provide an unparalleled boost to tired skin! The patting will allow deeper penetration and will reactivate blood circulation.
  • Purifying: pores are tightened thanks to the purifying and astringent action of rose. Rose water helps regulate sebum in particular. Imperfections are necessarily reduced and all this without even drying out the skin! Rose water has it all.

Please note

Rose is recommended to take care of all skin types but it is more recommended for dry and sensitive skin types since its purifying action does not dry out. It moisturizes and protects in depth, ideal for this type.

Rose water, its daily benefits

In beauty, the rose is appreciated in all its forms. But if there is one treatment that we should absolutely all include in our beauty and well-being routine, it is rose hydrosol. Rose water or hydrosol, is obtained by a process of distillation of the flower. Rose water has properties that have been widely proven and appreciated since its origin in Arab countries in the 10th century. It is a recognized ally for the beauty of our skin, rose hydrosol is obtained by the distillation of petals. It cleanses, tones, refreshes, and blocks the aging process of cells. Although it is suitable for all skin types, its astringent action and antibacterial properties make it an effective treatment for oily, acne-prone skin...

How to use rose water effectively for skin?

Directly poured into the bath water, sprayed on the skin using a spray applicator or simply soaked on its reusable wipe. We apply our rose water every morning for firm and toned skin all day long! In the evening we apply it to purify the skin, regenerate it as much as possible and allow our epidermis to hydrate deeply in order to remain toned over time.

How to use rose water for hair?

Rose water is very popular for taking care of your scalp. It cleanses it, calms irritations and other itching. Rose water is sprinkled directly on the skin of the scalp, then the lotion is applied to the hair follicles by massaging gently. This action will also boost blood circulation and boost hair growth. It is also said that in case of headaches, a massage with rose oil or a refreshment with rose hydrosol can calm the pain.

Good to know: like all hydrosols, rose water can be kept in a cool place for around three months after opening.

Rose oil, its daily benefits

For a complete routine, we enhance our beauty moment with rose oil, but not just any rose oil. The one that works real miracles on the skin is rosehip oil. Native to South America, Rosa Rubiginosa is a white rose that produces fruits whose seeds are cold-pressed to obtain the famous rosehip oil. Very rich in vitamins A and C, it also contains polyunsaturated fatty acids that make it a powerful anti-aging product. In the world of cosmetics, it is also widely appreciated for its healing effect, it helps reduce stretch marks and brown spots. Totally natural, it is the ideal treatment to keep skin deeply hydrated during pregnancy, for example.

How to use rosehip oil?

Apply a few drops of oil morning and evening (be sure to apply regularly to obtain conclusive effects) to the body and face. As for the eye contour, you can apply your oil there but note that an eye contour serum will be more suitable for this extremely fine and fragile area.

If you want to use it to reduce stretch marks, you will need to apply yourself to massaging the area. The same goes for treating spots or scars. In these cases, a third application (between noon and two) may be recommended. Note that rosehip oil is widely recommended for relieving skin problems such as psoriasis and sunburn, and works effectively to slow down skin aging.

Good to see

It is important to choose your oil carefully to avoid any unpleasantness. We make sure that it always says "first cold pressing" and "from organic farming." Obviously, we try as much as possible to get it from approved suppliers!
