The best techniques for eyebrow restructuring
The best techniques for eyebrow restructuring
Coralie Techer
For clean, well-defined eyebrows, think restructuring! But what is it? How do you go about it? Here's the lowdown.
Eyebrows play a major role in facial harmony, and should therefore be the focus of our skincare attention! However, it's not always easy to achieve the clean, well-defined line of your dreams. Whether due to genetics or maintenance concerns, they can sometimes be sparse, too short or simply not very full. To restore balance, there are now a number of techniques available, accessible to all budgets.
What is eyebrow restructuring?
Let's start by putting things in context: an eyebrow restructuring consists in restoring a clean, precise line to sparse eyebrows, those that have been allowed to do their thing a little too much. The practitioner will then pluck the line so that it is in total harmony with the client's facial features and personality. Restructuring is done in the classic way with tweezers, but some people simply don't have enough hair in the line to allow the desired eyebrow shape. Don't panic, in such cases the world of beauty always finds a solution!
What are the different eyebrow restructuring techniques?
the classic: with tweezers
Eyebrow waxing is the classic waxing technique, and also the quickest and easiest to do in an institute. How does it work? The practitioner first makes a diagnosis by assessing the condition of the original eyebrows. Are they thin, too thick, sparse or short? After this precise diagnosis, she will propose different shapes that the client can appreciate gr'ce to a pencil drawing on her original eyebrows.
Then it's time for the real thing. Armed with her tweezers, the practitioner proceeds with the meticulous depilation that will allow the line to find or regain the desired shape. The magic happens in just a few minutes! The session can end with a make-up application to accentuate the desired effect. If you're unfamiliar with the gesture, you can ask the practitioner to show you the different stages of make-up so that you can reproduce it at home.
Microblading
It's a much more considered technique. Microblading semi-permanently modifies the appearance of the eyebrow by reshaping it with a pigment-impregnated scalpel. So you don't have to worry about it when you wake up in the morning! The result is very natural-looking and lasts about 1 year before you need to touch up to restore the original result.

Microshading
Like its practical cousin, microblading, microshading is a semi-permanent process that gives the illusion of powdery eyebrow make-up. Unlike the first technique, the pigments are applied with a kind of needle that dabs them under the first superficial layer of skin. Microshading will not last as long as microblading.
Browlift
This is an aesthetic technique applied by products designed to hold eyebrow hairs in a particular shape. The idea behind this technique is to give an arched shape (like a Circumflex Accent) to eyebrows that have difficulty being naturally arched. This shape is particularly appreciated for its ability to enlarge the eye, giving a more alert look. The browlift should be repeated approximately once a month.
Henna or tincture
Eyebrow tinting is a good way to keep eyebrows clean and well defined. Rather than a restructuring technique, it's a way of embellishing the work done by the specialist. Among other things, tinting helps maintain a clean shape, which makes touch-up waxing at home much easier!
How do you maintain your eyebrows after restructuring?
It's very simple: at home, we scrutinize the regrowth carefully, using tweezers to remove any small hairs that protrude too far from the line defined by the restructuring. To avoid ruining the professional's work, we avoid waxing too much at all costs!

Bonus -> Tips for successful eyebrow makeup
To complete the restructuring process, we can of course indulge in eyebrow make-up. You can continue to use your usual products, such as pencils and blushes. Eyebrow make-up can be a scary thing to do, and if you don't get it right, it can quickly break up the harmony of the face and ruin the work of restructuring. To make sure you don't miss out, here are a few infallible steps and tips:
The different stages to follow
1 - Brush eyebrow downwards.
Avant d'appliquer son maquillage, on va brosser les poils du sourcil vers le bas afin de dégager les irrégularités qui doivent être comblées.
2 - Apply pencil or blush.
Eyebrow make-up is applied as discreetly as possible, so as not to end up with caterpillars above the eyes. To keep the effect natural, we simply draw small crosshatching lines with our eyebrow pencil, from the head to the tail of the line.
3 - Fix everything
Once the make-up has been applied, it's time to fix it so that your eyebrows stay on fleek all day long. How do we do it? Brush a wax or gel onto the eyebrow hairs from bottom to top (for a browlift effect), using a brush.
