Permanent makeup, yes or no?
Permanent makeup, yes or no?

Permanent makeup is back in the spotlight. Whether it's microblading, candylips or repigmentation, zoom in on these methods that border on natural for almost perfect beauty.
When we talk about permanent makeup, we think of the blueish, arched eyebrow tattoos that drew the eyebrows of the 80s. We also imagine the famous, slightly coarse lip contours... Having long fallen out of fashion (we understand why), permanent makeup (also called semi-permanent because it does not last forever) is getting a makeover, and we find ourselves saying it, to our great pleasure!
Brought up to date by stars , influencers and other trendy beautystas, permanent makeup allows you to obtain a clear eyebrow line, an awakened look, fuller lips (without injections), or even to correct certain skin depigmentations (e.g. vitiligo) but also to do a real sorting out in your collection of makeup products!
What exactly is permanent makeup?
To put it simply, we can say that permanent makeup is a kind of tattoo. Indeed, its principle is the same as this sometimes controversial precision art. It involves inserting organic pigments (insoluble) under the first layers of the epidermis using surgical and sterilized needles, in order to obtain a lasting makeup effect but always in a subtle way and bordering on the natural!
Who can practice permanent makeup?
Expert dermatologists and aesthetic professionals can take care of it without any problems. Be careful, before any operation it is preferable to check customer reviews and the reputation of the practitioner, in order to avoid unpleasant surprises. Permanent makeup is considered a surgical procedure and requires to be operated by real professionals concerned with good hygiene conditions and good practice. Note that once applied, the makeup can no longer be removed! You must therefore think twice before starting, or be patient (up to 3 years) before seeing it fade completely.
Good maintenance advice?
For your permanent makeup to last as long as possible, it is important to take care of your skin. Hydration is a key step to promote healing. Another important point is to avoid long exposure to the sun in order to make the pigments last as long as possible. Some permanent makeup can last up to three years before the next touch-up!
Permanent eyebrow makeup for a lifted and glamorous look
The most well-known and most practiced permanent makeup is probably that of the eyebrows. There are also several techniques to suit all desires and needs.
The hair-by-hair technique (microblading)
For a structured look and especially to fill in sparse eyebrows, there's nothing better than the hair-by-hair technique, otherwise known as microblading ! How does it work? Using a small scalpel with a 14-microblade tip soaked in pigment, the practitioner or dermatologist will draw each missing hair to fill in the line or redraw it. The operation lasts about 1 hour and can be more or less painful depending on each person's sensitivity. After the first application, you are asked to come back for a touch-up about 4 to 6 weeks later.
The powdered effect (dermopigmentation) or the shading fashion
Shading is the permanent eyebrow makeup technique that is all the rage at the moment. Its powdery effect gives the impression of eyeshadow or powder makeup (as its name suggests). This technique is slightly different from microblading since the hair is not drawn, the pigment is inserted under the first layer of the skin using an electric needle that will prick the skin back and forth (like a sewing machine) in order to deposit a layer of material. This technique is ideal for marking and restoring volume to the eyebrow arch. It seems that dermopigmentation is less painful than microblading, but once again, it is a question of feeling according to each person.
Good advice? After applying these fresh and new eyebrows, disinfectant and Vaseline are required to help with healing and prevent infections. 48 hours after the modification, you can resume your normal daily life, including applying your creams and serums, even your special eyebrow serum !
Semi-permanent lip makeup: should you avoid it or should you try it?
Exit the marked and vulgar lip contour, in 2021 permanent lip makeup is delicate, glamorous, almost natural . Its goal? To give the lips a plumped effect without having to resort to injections. Permanent makeup can also be used to color the lips of those who lack pigmentation more or less lightly. For some time now, Candy Lips, this permanent lip makeup technique, has been in fashion. This technique will apply pigments to the surface layer of the skin in order to color it. It is also possible to slightly enlarge the volume of your lips by emphasizing the outline with a light pigment.
Good advice? Let's keep in mind that this is a surgical procedure. Lip tattooing can be even more painful than eyebrow tattooing, as the skin layer is very thin and the area is rather sensitive (there is no anesthesia!). Post-operative conditions must be strictly followed to avoid any infection. For even more beauty after this mini procedure, remember to take care of your lips with a plumping and mega-hydrating lip balm !
Permanent makeup to repigment areas of the skin
Permanent makeup is not just for eyebrows or lips! It is also a good way to correct certain skin imperfections . It can even be considered as medical support in the case of certain diseases such as vitiligo. Permanent makeup will pigment the areas of the skin suffering from this depigmentation, in order to give the epidermis a uniform appearance. In other cases, after breast cancer for example, permanent tattooing can be considered to redraw the nipples of the breast. In addition to the aesthetic aspect, permanent makeup then becomes a significant moral support!
On a more trendy side, permanent makeup is also increasingly requested to create fake freckles . The method is delicate and must be provided by a real professional otherwise it can quickly be a disaster. It would be a shame to end up with failed spots right in the middle of your face.
