How do I use my eyelash curler?

When you buy an eyelash curler (if there is such a thing), the instructions aren't exactly self-explanatory. This little device seems destined for torture, but only becomes one if you don't know how to use it. To avoid pain, there are a few rules to follow:

• Lash curlers should always be used before applying mascara! It's very important, and unfortunately we're all too often tempted to do it afterwards... Why shouldn't we? Because mascara makes the lash heavier and stiffer, which makes it even more fragile and more likely to break under the pressure of the eyelash curler...

• We start by combing these lashes with a small brush (the brush from an old mascara, for example), to separate them.

• You prepare your eyelash curler by heating it beforehand with a hair dryer. The hot metal softens the hair, acts as a fixative and also prevents broken lashes! (Like hair straightening plates).

• Take your eyelash curler in hand, taking care to pick up the lashes as close to the root as possible (without pinching) and, above all, to cover the entire fringe.
• The lash fringe of each eye is pinched for about 10 seconds.

• Apply a few coats of mascara (but don't overdo it, or you'll get clumps) and your lashes will be curled, lengthened and your eyes magnified!
